ABSTRACT
In the past decade, public agencies in many countries have initiated and developed
“Open Data” for the agencies’ information dissemination to the public at large. Thai
government open data center, which is the largest data hub to serve the society is under the
domain name called data.go.th, created by the Digital Government Development Agency
(public organization), a.k.a. DGA. This article presents the development of Thai government
open data since it has started in 2016 until the present time covering the open data service
from the center, which has different characteristics comparing to open data portal in the
countries with high digital development. The study employs content analysis regarding the
standard, form, and usability. The significant findings concern control over open data
standards, support for innovation in business, research, and further value-added usability by
wide public usages. It suggests that high development level on the existing government open
data center may create higher and wider usability impacts for academic, business, organization
development, and public policy areas.
