                                                        Abstract

The study is focused on the inequality in the neo-liberal society by using a case study

of Zootopia’s world. The objectives are to study neo-liberalism and its effect on American
society, and to explore the inequality issue in the American society comparing with Zootopia
society that are reflected through the movie. This study uses the Zootopia movie as a base
to collect information from the academic articles and journals, related books, international
reports, and reliable online sources. Then it is applied with neo-realism theory as a main
framework and integrated with the inequality approach.
The study shows that the society, which is implemented under neo-liberalism

especially by economic policy, is one of main causes leading to economic crisis and other
related crises. These crises affect social inequality created. America is exemplified facing of
this situation and Zootopia show that American society itself is truly prototype of this thing.
Thus, there are 5 inequalities that are emerged from neo-liberal economic and social
conditions, based on Zootopia and involved in American society, which are racial inequality,
occupational inequality, gender inequality, educational inequality and upward social class

               inequality.
